This is a soccer ball signed by Pele and 11additional players of the Champion 1977 NY Cosmos Soccer Team. I was playing soccer in 1977 and the local New Jersey team I was on won the state tournament. Our team was invited to attend a special NY Cosmos banquet at George’s Restaurant in Moonachie NJ. I was 14 years old at the time. My parents bought me a new soccer ball to bring to the banquet so I could use it to get the players autographs. I remember handing the players the ball and they would pass it around the table and each player would sign it. It has 11 of the players signatures as well as the coach, Gordon Bradley. The ball has been stored in a dry dark space for 41 years and is in EXCELLENT condition. The players signed it with a blue ball point pen. There is a little fading on some of the signatures, but all signatures are very readable, (see pics of each of the signatures). The only signature that has faded quite a bit is that of Coach Bradley, all the others look great. When the Soccer Hall Of Fame was located in Oneonta, NY I talked to the head curator, Mr. Hall and he asked me if I could lend the ball to them so they could display it. I never did bring them the ball because I was afraid something may happen to it. Here is the list of the signatures: (see pictures of each signature).
